Who is a priest? He is one that intercedes and solicits between humanity and divinity, he pleads the cases of those under his priesthood and seeks their union and re-union with God. Unfortunately, human Priest themselves are limited, little wonder why God himself ordained not just a priest, but a High Priest, whose position and office is not just situated amidst men, but he is seated on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens. (Hebrews 8:1-2)
I would like to introduce you to the one and only High Priest. Whose position is far above all manipulations of our arch enemy – the devil. He dispenses his priestly duties so efficiently, and so consistently that he never sleeps nor slumbers, always on duty. He can save and help his own to the uttermost, seeing that he lives to make intercessions for them.
He loved his own to the point of death, and drained his precious blood so that ours can be preserved, he takes over the worries of his own, and authoritatively declares, that his own could cast their cares, confusions and worries on him, because he cares for them. He is the only Shepherd that would dare to pursue the ‘lions’ of life in the bid to rescue his own sheep, because he really and truly cares.
He does not supply only spiritual needs, he makes available wisdom and knowledge for his own, because he himself is the wisdom of God, he supplies strength and longevity, because he is the ancient of days. he gives joy and rest, because he is the oil of joy, in fact, not ordinary joy, but joy unspeakable full of glory, he gives healing and cure, because he is the balm in Gilead, and the strength of Israel. He is not prone to the concerns and troubles of this life, that is why he is the right candidate to bail out those who are therein.
You don’t worry about money stored in the banks, you only worry if that huge amount is kept at home, for safety reasons – right? Your life is more precious than your money, don’t keep your life by yourself, it would breed worries for you, give it to the High Priest for safe keep.
His name is Jesus, He says, come unto me, all that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. He stands at the door and knocks, if any man opens, he will enter and make life, peace, joy, health, fulfilment available to his own. Do not miss out on the services of this High Priest, you sure need him.
Kindly say these few words of prayer with me: “Heavenly Father, I recognize you as the author of life and my High Priest, I hand over to you the Lordship of my life today.
